There are many exciting celebrations in this part of Cornwall throughout the seasons, from what’s known as Obby ‘Oss Day, to the wonderful festivities of May Day. Costumed horses are paraded through the streets to herald the beginning of spring.

There are many famous filming locations in this part of Cornwall, including the spectacular headland Stepper Point which was used in the brooding BBC drama Poldark, based on the novels of Winston Graham. Both Prideaux Place and Porthcothan Beach have also been used in this popular series. Many locations near here have also been used for series like Doc Martin.
