With our central-based holiday cottages in Padstow, you can stay a short walk away from one of the beautiful and interesting harbours in Cornwall.
This area’s port grew on the Western bank of the River Camel, with the inner quays and strand constructed in the Tudor age. After the railway arrived in 1899, and it was possible to transport fish quickly to London’s Billingsgate Fish Market, more trawlers started using Padstow Harbour.
This led to the present-day dock being built in 1910. The railway was there for 50 years before the Camel Trail to Padstow was developed.
